I've changed my mind about @User14044. Let's revert to a threesome.

and you want to put bloody brown sauce on them?

Even though he's a relative, he's sometimes swayed by heathen tastes.

Both are shite and a very good reason not to visit the place.
I think you will find your forgetting Hollands pies.

Gravy.....on fish?! Nooooo!!xx(

My sister lives in Oldham, much to family shame as it's now in Lancashire, we are all Tykes. The first time we went to see her she took us to a Fish-n-Chip restaurant and when I ordered Cod and Chips she jumped in with a 'No gravy' request. I laughed so much I nearly fell onto the floor. But apparently it's a common thing over the border!

Lived in Oldham a long time, married a local girl and I love my fish and chips, neither I nor Mrs SB nor her 84 year old father who has only ever lived away from Oldham for his national service have ever seen or heard of this. God alone knows where your sis took you but none of us have ever encountered this weird phenomenon.

The trouble is it is very difficult to get anything but brut or at best demi-sec Champagne here. The fruity sweetness of Sauternes cuts through the greasiness of the chips better.
Yebbut, Sauternes is too sweet for chish and fips. I mean, we're having some with sticky toffee pudding later!
