Lighter mornings/nights equals danger?

I'd hazard a guess that there are more miles driven/ridden in day light & good weather. But there is a consistent RTA spike in November when people are commuting to/from work in twilight hours.

Some drivers do seem to try to drive without their lights on for as long as possible. Twilight is neatly divided into those who have already put their lights on and those who are trying to get from a to b before they need to use them. Ditto sidelights - you see a lot of vehicles using them in semi darkness when they should really be using headlights.

I've had a couple of dodgy moments this week,taxi not giving way at mini RAB,van pulling out on me,been wearing my red jacket and it may be co-incidence but I feel a bit invisible in it,despite having 2 good lights up front and 2 lights rear.Wore the yellow jacket last 2 days and all has been well.
And done my 1st daylight commute of 2010 today(12 noon finish) summers nearly here:smile:

I haven't had a chance to try out the altenative route and I'll need find time to consult a map before I do. It'll be about a 1.5 miles longer and have some more hills (probably about 20m in height...:blush:) to contend with, but it will be a lot quieter.

HJ, you really are obsessed with lights!:surrender: The cars are in no doubt about my presence, so lighting isn't the issue. It's daylight induced bravery that is the problem. Anyway I have to say I wasn't too impressed with the Dinotte 200L when compared to the Hope 1 LED. The only area that the Dinotte is better is in flash mode, but that is for another thread....:evil:
