The closest for me was on the Paston Ridings building site, circa 1976. We had a huge wooden 'shed' that served as a canteen, it could seat maybe 30 people.
We were sitting out a sudden storm drinking tea etc when BOOOOOOOOOOOM, a strike occured obviously very close by...it seemed inches above our heads, just about everyone ducked and invoulentarily made to grab the tables with outstretched arms.
A wide eyed silence followed for a few seconds followed by a good deal of expletives.

you just need to walk around with a hatless girl (or chap) with long hair, to act as a warning mechanism.
If she's taller than you as well, then you'll be quite safe
