lights in the sky

Last night as normal I set out to first foot our house. At midnight I was by the A69 at the Aglionby junction, looking towards Carlisle I seen an orange light cut right a cross the sky from SSW to ENE. I put it down as a plane having a late night jaunt. Then the same thing happened again on the same course. A few moments later three more came over in arrow formation. If I had been breathalised I would have been done BUT I was still very sober. I have been on the webb this morning and have seen picture of what I seen but from all over the globe, did any body else see any thing last night.

Chinese Lanterns I reckon,
Right colour, travelling with the wind

yup chinese lanterns loads of em here in london.

Sorry I dont buy the Chinese lantern theory, I have done too many all night challenge walks to be taken in by that one but I will not discard the theory out of hand and you have to remember last night was relatvely calm and these were moving fairly fast and though I admit to having had a couple of good size whiskeys I was sober.

I saw lanterns still going over at quarter to four this morning. It was quite calm at roof level but the clouds were fair flying past up there.

if you are implying it is aliens or visitors from the future, then it isn't either of them,

Chinese lanterns flying in formation?
there's no reason why they shouldn't keep company with each other. And I saw several 'flying in formation' last night. All moving at well above the ground level windspeed.

If it makes you feel any better, yes; we also saw orange lights crossing the sky pretty fast in the direction of the prevailing wind. Having seen loads before we knew they were Chinese lanterns and went back to watching TV.
