Little Egrets

I took a picture of a Little Egret less than 20m from my front door in a small stream that comes out of a culvert about 6 weeks ago. Mind you they are common around Rutland Water and they are no longer a rare sight in the Fens, Peterborough being in between, it should be no surprise really, mind you the weather has been so wet that Rutland water levels are the highest I have seen, the local vicar was overheard saying "let Osprey for dryer weather" but that's probably Knot going to happen, shame really as it tends to ruin peoples Hobby's.
This pun fest sounds a bit of a Lark, will try and think of some

Totally OT, but my father was part of the original design team for Rutland Water!

Seeing as we're doing bird puns, i could mention the lovely pair of tits I saw through my binoculars this morning, but that would be too obvious.

THat is the first time I have ever seen the term "Lovely Birds" and Peterborough in the same context!

OI! I'll 'ave you know that Mrs Browser is Peterborough born and bred and she's flippin' gawgeuss!
I may, of course, be accused (quite accurately) of bias, but one must defend one's own from attacks by 'southern' members on the forum (that there Cunobelin bein' a vice pressydent 'n all).

gbb, if you should venture North along the new A16, just before the now infamous bridge over Carr Dyke there is a shallow pond to the right of the road and there have been a pair of Little Egrets in there since the road opened. If you come past the Power Station you might be lucky enough to see the nesting Peregrine Falcons we have on the lower stack on the North side of the site, noisy beggars at times.

Oi!!!!!

I may be a "Suvvnah" but I was dragged up in St Ives, and spent many a happy day in my youth providing medical cover at Alwalton either at the Panthers or the Grass Track racing. We also used to see the Posh play on a regular basis.

Having said that, this was during the mass exodus from London to the big estates built for "overspill" so the young ladies we were meeting probably weren't indigenous.

I fink some of 'em came over from Indigenous, mosta the rest of 'em these days 'er from Eastern Europe ^_^
