Ride It Like You Stole It!

Read a thread on here some time ago, and we'd always had trouble with a couple of Heli's that were bought for my son. Either impossible to control, or broke first day with a tail motor failure.

I did read that Syma were good. Anyway, spotted a syma 105g in a home bargains for £15 so my son bought it. It's the same as the 107g.

The Heli's flies brilliantly, very controllable. That was a few months ago. Roll on my lads birthday, lots of cash from relatives. He got me to order the Syma 033g for him.

It's 2.5 foot long.....

Managed to get it via Amazon for £41 as it's anything upto £80 on some shops.

All I can say its ace. Just like the mini Heli's but much bigger. He has flown it a few times round the field at the back of our house, and at night this evening. We've even made a Heli's pad out of scrap wood and chip board for take off and landing from a soggy field.

We've already fitted an upgraded tail rotor for more speed.

PS I've not flown it, too scared I will crash it, or chop someone's head off.

Those little co-axial helis are good fun and stable to fly, I've got one that gets the occasional flight. I've also got a bigger single-rotor heli that is way, way harder to fly.

@fossyant, please be careful. I spent the last 25 years flying model planes and helis, and whilst the diddy 105 type will bounce off you, the larger are less forgiving.

Just get a Syma 105g or 107g for about £15 off the net. Worth it.
I searched for the 033  and want one

Gotta love the .90, I only ever went as large as .50 size but in electric form. You get away with keeping them indoors, I went all electric after my Shuttle dripped oil onto the new bedroom carpet, seemed the easy way to keep the peace

A lot of people have gone electric, but i love ic. we have laminate flooring so no probs.^_^

If you want something a bit faster/more agile in the future I've found my WLToys V911 superb. But it is a 4 channel job so bit more of a challenge and a definite step-up from a Syma 105g (my first heli too). The quadcopters are great fun too and more stable/easier to fly. I have a V959 - you can get a water squirter attachment to annoy other people and a camera for, err.....checking the gutters. The Hubsan X4 are supposed to be very good micro quads too.

edit. There seems to be some FPV quads available now too. Hmmm........
