Little Miss Fossy can now ride....

She'd almost got there riding up and down the road - lots of screaming 'I can't do it' yet I was just holding her.

Sooo... been away at Nan's caravan in N. Wales over Easter....off we go....nearly there up and down the roads round the site, so we ride to the NCN 5 - about half a mile - I say ride...Little Miss and Mr Speedy do, me and mom jog.....

Anyway, off down the NCN for a mile, lots of tantrums etc (99%) there, then turns round and we're nearly there.... She then rides the last 200 yards to the style completely unaided. She then decides to turn round and do it all again....let's say running by the side of a child doing 10-12 mph (son was following with his computer) is knackering....sweat pouring off me as I've not done much running for a couple of years with the bike miles....

She's now riding fine, starting and stopping and turning round now need sorting. - She's not as confident as my son was, but she's managed it at nearly 6, when my son was just over 6 (although he's clocked up over 170 miles speeding up and down the road since July last year....:o)....

We're taking all the bikes next time we go to the caravan...yay !

Well done to Miss Fossyant.

I hope you're going to train her to keep her bike nice and shiny too!

give her a week and it'll be like she was born on a bike. i can't remember what my first bike looked like but i can remember my dad running behind me holding the saddle. i vaguely remember stabilisers at one point.

my brother had a chopper. i reckon he rode round on it with his eyes closed because he had so many accidents that the hospital had to tell my mum and dad to confiscate it because they could no longer x-ray him because he had had too much radiation for one year! We were talking about it the other day and he admitted that on one of the occasions he put a plank of wood up the kerb with the intention of riding up it like a ramp and flying over the sign that has the road name on it. What a dick! He thought a 5 inch kerb would propel him (at 6mph) over a 3 foot road sign ;) needless to say that was one of the times he had to be x-rayed.

+1 to that. Bolletta cracked riding about a month ago (she's 7). She's at her Grandparents this week and I just had a call saying she'd just ridden 7 miles with her Grandad.

It's the face when they crack it that gets me, the sheer joy. Then you get the overconfidence and the odd panicked look. My youngest was the funniest, he rode like a crash test dummy to begin with. But nothing would deter him from getting back on.

Miss Fossy isn't that confident....but vocal... she wasn't happy that I'd let go...let go was thumb and finger on a cardigan...... hence my lot's of running miles.....

As a younger of two, she does refer to big bro, but he has been great, apart from telling little miss to ride faster..... so dad goes into a full sprint.... and she can't stop yet... he has been a very good encourager..

Little Miss isn't a mini me on a bike like Mr Man, but she got it 6 months earlier than he did, and she did loads less bike riding than he did.....to get there.....

She is more like mom - can ride a bike, but what are gears........?

Yenners.......I hope so...... god..so much abuse........it's well funny with a non confident young biker....... "your fault dad".......just so different from Mr Man..he was a late starter, but he's a total natural now.... I go..." Don't start off in 6........ Yeh ...blah blah....... rides perfect between two cars as he goes off....FFS I won't do that on a proper bike....;)

that's a bit contradictory if you don't mind me saying. she's got it six months earlier and she did LESS riding to do it, yet you think she's not like Mr Man??? i don't think you're giving her much credit! Give her a month and she'll probably be better than him, 5 months earlier!
