Liverpool to Florence

I have very grand plans of cycling from the UK to Italy...and finding a bar job or something when I get there. How do you rate my chances on both counts?

There is no such thing as my Italian...

I was hoping entirely for a job in an English bar, of which I hear there are plenty, where it might not be needed.

Is the suggestion that getting a job would be harder than the ride to get there?

I'm inclined to believe that's probably the case.

I can't imagine in an age of high unemployment that they're falling over themselves to hire waiters/bar staff who can't communicate with the customers.

p.s.The ride will be fun though. I cycled from Brighton to Bologna a few years back.

p.p.s. Voglio un lavoro, per favore might be a phrase worth learning!

Brighton to Bologna sounds excellent. How long did it take?

I took 5 weeks but I could have done it quicker if I'd needed to.
