Lobster claw winter gloves

My Sealskins winter gloves are not keeping my hands warm-also find them quite uncomfortable on my arthritic hands.

Has anybody on here found the above more comfortable? Can't seem to find any with good gel pads on the palms though.

I found Sealskinz to be cold too. I don't use lobster claws but Lidl's ski gloves are pretty good in cold weather. They only cost £6 or something.

Think my new year resolution is going to buy quality and try things before I buy. I must have six pairs of useless gloves and am currently using runners gloves with mitts over them

I have a pair of lobster claw they are very good sometime too warm and if you like playing with your computer forget it.

They are about the only thing that keep my fingers warm . I have the specialized offering with the inner glove .
My main problem is half way through my morning ride I have to give my chickens fresh water for the day and that involves ice My girls love me for it though

I realise that you know exactly what you mean,but when I first read your post it made me think of some religious sacrifice,offerings and chickens,ice and what have you.Youre not an Inca,or a member of some arcane mediaeval reenactment society are you?

Ah well,never mind,but if ever you fancy going down those routes,theres plenty of space up here.All we seem to get are drunken Romans and for some unknown reason Napoleons Old Guard making their way along the Hadrians Wall Trail.I used to think it was me until one of them asked about Wi fi! For his tablet presumably.

I do that, unless it's really cold. Mostly I find my Sealskinz to be fine but the other night my hands got cold riding 4 miles home while wearing them.

Only tried lobster gloves once and whilst they did seem to work (can't remember numb fingers anyway); I preferred having individual fingers (my pinky rests behind the bars and the next finger in front).

It was my belief that when the fingers were in contact with each other in a mitt they kept each other warm.
Then a few years ago I got a pair of cheapo Lidl cycling gloves, which seem to be everlasting, and I've never had cold hands since, so I really don't know which is better.

They don't have much by way of padding but they are just big enough to wear with a pair of mits in place of the liner glove.

My girls are garden based so its easier but could you take a flask of hot water with you and mitigate the ice that way, you'd also have have a little hand warmer into the bargain and even happier chickees with a warm drink in their bellies.

Though one of ours is so daft she's ignoring the nice warm water and pecking the rainwater ice off the tarpaulin covering the garden table.

The flask works sometimes but today everything was frozen solid . I had to smash through the ice on the water butt just to get at some water and then fill up pots with watering cans so the girls had a drink .
