I love the payment in biscuits model myself. I discussed this with my LBS and the owner is happily looking forward to his pension fund of 1875 packets of HobNobs and an iced finger.
Which LBS is this then...... and what's the JaffaCake to HobNob exchange rate?

I asked him about exchange rates, but he was too busy getting worked up because I wanted a brake cable, and he didn't have change for a carrot cake.

I bought a packet of Hobnobs for a nut and bolt shop as a thank you. They went to great lengths to get hold of a peculiarly threaded nut for me which in the end cost about a quid so I thought they deserved a tea time treat. The chap looked genuinely surprised and pleased. It was quite touching.

Over a week for a spoke is bad in my book.
Does sound quite a wait for just a spoke. Whilst doing the WOTR a few years back, I had a spoke break enroute which put the wheel out quite a bit. Nursed the bike to next town which was Ripon & rang the nearest bike shop I could find. I rung Moonglu & they said they were too busy to fit a new spoke, but I was prepared to buy one & fit it myself  When I got to shop, guy saw loaded up tourer & asked if I was doing the WOTR, next thing "bring your bike in & get the wheel off" Within 30 mins I was back on my way. Great customer service even though they knew I was not likely to return with any further business :bravo:
