Local knowledge: Derby (hospital)

just found out my BIL has been admitted, and we were wondering about visiting him, but my sister in law has said it is difficult to park? Is there anywhere good to park and take a bus or train?

There is a housing estate behind the aldi/lidl over the round about from the main entrance. I think a lot of staff park that way on. A friend of mine lives there and I've never seen any parking restriction signs. Would only be a 5 minute walk max...
