Shame about the trolls in the comments but hopefully it will re-emphasise a call for 20mph limits and better planned out routes. Southampton is absolutely perfect for riding a bike - small and with moderate hills.

I was down in 'ampsheeer yesterday (nr Wickham, if you know it). Not been there before but it looks really nice and picturesque. Lots of narrow lanes and countryside - looks like a great cycling place.

Have never actually been but knew 2 people from there years back. Used to be very remote I'm told. Most of Hampshire is loverly, history in cities and the rural areas in abundance.
