Well Raleigh owned the Carlton works where it was built.

That's what I was getting at, once Raleigh had bought out/been merged with the competitors, a lot of the bikes were effectively badge-engineered Raleighs. That doesn't make them bad bikes, but they aren't really Suns in the true sense.

Only after Raleigh closed the Worksop factory did they become 'badge engineered Raleighs'
