Our newsagent's 11 year old little delivery van was stolen from their garage earlier this week.
"Why" might you ask "would anyone want to break in to a garage at night, at the back of a village street that is overlooked by a number of properties, to steal an old but much loved small van?"
The answer, they've been told, is that its particular model's gearbox is rare and sought after by competitors in a particular 1300cc stock car saloon racing category.
Quite upsetting for them that someone must have tracked down their car's details and their address, plus it's a loss that they could have done without, as there's not a lot of money in being a newsagent in a rural area. The van was a Fiat Doblo/Renault Kangoo-style thing.
