Yes, unbolt it.... second hand a 2-4 gun cabinet like that will sell for £80 - 100 ish!

Hate to dampen any bonfires, but it's too old and obsolete to sell as a gun cabinet. As a bare minimum they have to be 14 gauge steel, with internal hinge pins and anti-jemmy flanges, capable of being masonry anchored to external walls, and have a minimum of two seven-lever locks.

I'd keep it and put my porn scrolls in it personally....... I have non-slip soles on my slippers:biggrin:

It might cast some light on a previous owner of the house - why not send the picture to the Imperial War Museum? There's bound to be somebody there who will recognise it as a standard wartime issue cabinet for, say, members of the Home Guard or something.

You could even try asking an older relative or neighbour. A good chinwag certainly beats wasting your life typing on here!

Just had a closer look, Cubemeister is indeed correct (and so he should be) its not worth alot!

Although had it been usable for anything other than porn it would have been worth a fair bit.

I have a spare couple of magic lantern plates entitled "Deirdre Does Dulwich" and would throw in a couple of issues of "Gentleman Onanist Monthly " (the October and November 1933 editions, with the linked article on knee length bloomers) if you'd like to swap it Wigsie?
