London Calling - Biggest and/or best Evans in Zones 1 or 2

Mortimer St has quite a good selection, Greg... it's 'downstairs in the basement as there's no 'Evans above.'
As mentioned by brockers, there are two branches at Wasserloo - which one would deal with the CX? The Cut branch I guess...

the downstairs at the Spitalfields one is pretty spacious too, on a par with the one at the back of regent street (is that mortimer street?)

Any Evans will do, as you can order in any bike in thier range to any store.
The shop in Mortimer Street is by far the largest and stocks many bikes. If you don't want to order a bike in, then that is the one to go for.

I think they are all much of a muchness. I have had a bike from the one on Farringdon Rd, next to Ludgate circus and they were very good. A fair size and plenty of choice. London bridge one is supposed to be quite good, too.

Always use the one at london bridge very helpful means i can cycle to them drop bike off and train it home pick it up again in the am and ride home

Just find a bike you like the look of on their web site and get your nearest Evans to order it in for you.

The chance of any one Evans having the right bike in the right size is fairly slim, although they will check their stock system to see if any of the local shops have the bike you're looking for.

The Waterloo Branch on the Cut (the one that stocks Road Bikes) is the best Evan's I've used, staff are very helpful and they have quite a large range of bikes in there.

A lad that used to live next to me has just got a job working in the Cut shop. He was very fixed gear till he moved but since then he's got himself a Madone, so I guess he's broadening his gear ratios horizons. Pretty good on the mechanicals, I'd say. (He's also seen me have a clipless moment at the gates to Richmond Park and he didn't even laugh at me when I landed on the pavement!) So if you bump into a new, fairly shy guy called Joe, light build, fair hair, say hello from Chris in Deptford for me.

And if you're buying, and if he doesn't rub you up the wrong way, make it his sale. The job's a bit of a break for him and I'd love a one-time ride partner to do well.

As said above, Waterloo The Cut is a good one in my experience.

Yep difficult to beat the one on the Cut. Used it for years while I was based at E&C and then Waterloo.
