Been out on the nearby Hampstead Heath today and weather mostly very nice. Currently brilliant sunshine.

Any fellow helmet-cam aficionados turning up?

Are you bringing cake tt?
Lukey Luke...are you asking for cake?!

I've got a few chores to do tomorrow and some tying up of loose ends. Then have to be round at friend's for lunch. Was planning to take some baked goods for that so if I get the time I'll bring homebaked goodies. No bananas in the house for the usual bread!!

I might even have a plus one tomorrow, I'll see if I can get him to come along.

ETA 4ish.

I'm on top of the hill - big daft Northern bloke in black jeans and green t-shirt sporting a couple of Tesco's carriers - come and rescue me as there's bloody loads of people here!!!

Cheers,
Shaun

Had to bail unfortunately - as I don't have the pennies for a train home it occurred to me that I wouldn't get home till 1/2am. Which would be OK if it was Saturday! Hope you all have a great time.

Ooh that was fun

What a fantastic day it was, lovely company, great weather provided by User

Today we met the wonderful Admin, who is a really lovely chap and who told us all just how we can achieve the status of 'God' under your username. No seriously. Immense kudos for the fact that he came all the way down from Hull.

Next social planned looks to be in the form of a pub quiz.

Wonderful cycling to Westminster Bridge in the warm evening afterwards, as the sky turned red over Big Ben as the sun set.

Those suicidal Boris Bikers! We couldn't stop laughing (blackly).

Katie swearing about the Jazz buskers:

"Don't f******g applaud. It'll only encourage them!"

Hahaha.

Thanks for your company everyone.

A most excellent afternoon out. Delightful to see Shaun (can't honestly remember if we talked on the York FNRttC or not), pleasure to meet Katie, and see everyone else again. The ride back to Waterloo was somewhat more eventful. First my chain not so much dropped as mangled on the junction for Baker Street- fortunately a nice chap on a Look helped me sort that- which was the last I saw of User, Katie & Grace (I did call, but you clearly didn't hear it, understandably with all the traffic). Back on, and then the PF visited with a vengeance- a huge lump of glass attached itself to my front wheel. Clumped back to Waterloo with one flat, then my second good samaritan of the day gave me a hand wrestling with the 406/Conti Sport Contact combo (I am massively out of practice with punctures, simply because I hardly ever get any- that was my first in over 5k of riding this year). He eventually got the old tube out and the new one in, but he got all of one side and about 80% off the other before he left the train at Guildford. I couldn't get it all on either, so clumped back home. Oh, and my my front light batteries had packed up as well.....
Great day, just a shame how it ended! Thanks everyone.

Ahhh, we wondered what had happened as we turned to look for you and couldn't find you. We assumed wrongly that you'd made a turning to head towards Waterloo.

Sounds eventful and a tad unlucky!!
Good to see you again, sad to not have tried the fruitcake!! Looked scrummy!

The gates weren't locked at Regents Park so I managed to escape and bimble back to Hull without and problems.

I'm still mystified though by the strange disappearance of the remaining Licourice Allsorts - they were definitely in the car when I set off ... but gone by the time I got back ... odd ... ;)

Had a great afternoon and it was lovely to put some faces to names and get a chance to sit down and chat without being exhausted and gasping for breath (although that hill had me feeling it a bit by the time I got to the top).

Glad you all got home safetly, but sounds like you had a right nightmare Stu - talk about it all happening at once!!

If you do it again next year, give me a shout.

Cheers,
Shaun
