OK, I'll ask my mother nicely if she can delay dying from a hospital acquired infection for a little longer so I can come to the pub

Edit: Perhaps that's a little black but I thought I'd mention it now so I don't have to talk about it tomorrow if I come out and happen to get a bit emotional. A break from nursing will be good but if I feel that an xmas party is not the best place to take it I hope you guys understand. That said if she's made a big improvement I'll be celebrating!

Thanks! There's been a huge improvement overnight with a new "big gun" antibiotic, blood transfusion and a pep talk from palliative care. Her docs say she's turned a corner and have ordered me to go to the pub! :-) I'm hoping to be there - light hearted conversations only though please!

Just to confirm Gooner will be there will be instantly recognisable by wearing full Arsenal strip ( no shin pads ) and front and rear lights burning brightly. Hope to leave work around 1745, hopefully be there just after 6 - 6-15pm ! Looking forward to it, I know no-one at all but happy to take the piss out of anyone and everyone.

Blooming Greyhound coach didn't turn up today so I was unable to make the party. Found out that the pickup point was at Town Quay not Royal Pier which is where I am certain it was when I made the booking. So now I am sitting here moping and very dissapointed.
