London is one of the greatest capital cities in the world - FACT.
I agree, it is a huge place, it can't all be good all of the time.
Either you like mega cities or you don't, and London is a good one. Go and live in Mumbai or Tokyo for a while and then come back to tell us how much you hated it.
I work in the city and live in the suburbs, I would like to live a bit further out but secretly I would miss the fact that the world is on my doorstep if I need it.

It's got great breweries, beer and pubs, what's not to like.

Are they the shandy ones?

tbh I much prefer smaller places like York, Bath or even Edinburgh but I would rather spend my time in the Lakes or Dales.

Yup, the same as me..

If you ever come to London, you don't need a map, you need a User10571.

I like London.......it's great for reminding me why I moved northwards from the E Mids, and not southwards

Haven't lived there for a long time but visit frequently. Love the place, except for public transport in peak time.

Now a good place to cycle round, much better and safer than when I last commuted there in the 1990s. Lively and fun. Being taken there for my birthday weekend this year, not sure what I'm being taken to but I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

If I could afford it I'd retire there in a few years time, but I can't so I'll have to make do with visits.

Last weekend I visted London with some friends, the usual tourist places. The last time I was down there was 25 years ago and it's not how I remember it.

The place was overcrowded with too many angry cyclists shouting at pedestrians to get out the way and impatient car drivers sounding their horns, people seemed so stressed out. Yes, there is some nice architecture in the capital but after my 2 days I came away with a sense that London had gone down the pan, it just seemed gruby and not a very welcoming place.

Maybe if I lived down there I'd see the place differently but from a tourists point of view, I won't be rushing back.

There there. Have a nice mangel-wurzel and a glass of mead, and I'm sure everything will be alright.

I visited London on my own in November. I was on a business trip so didnt get much time to see the city. However, when we went out for an explore around the local area, me and a few people I was with had a few drinks before hand then headed out. To my dismay, a lad who I was with suddenly ran across the road infront of a taxi! Missing him by inches. I seriously thought he was going to be hit.
The taxi sounded his horn but just carried on (probably has someone do it everyday). I just could not believe the stupidity of the person I was with.

Whilst I was there I was being very vigilant and keeping my belongings close to me (I know the crime rate in London is high). When walking through the underground, I was amazed at how many people walked into my suitcase and didnt think a thing about it. I ran over about 15 toes just trying to get out of the place on one day.

I would certainly not like to live or work there. Especially if it meant using public transport (although the underground is quick).

Dominos pizzas are fab in London...a slice of life epitomised! Actually, in Londinium, we tend to have Dominos after a 'night on the tiles' and Pizza Hut after a night on the pizz. As Ian summed up; get yourself a User10571. (Evans had sold out of them last time I looked, but they are expecting further stock. Available as a fixed or adjustable unit...looks very neat and tidy.)

London never has nor never will be my cup of tea. The less a place has been mucked up by mankind the more it appeals to me. The suburbs are the worst, they are all totally mucked up in my opinion. Cities are pretty mucked up too, but at least they are mucked up in a more tasteful way which makes some of them just about tolerable. There are even some cities that I really quite like such as Venice. For me though its the rural villages and open country side that appeals to me. Everyone to their own though.

Which North Hampshire wilderness do you happen to live in, just out of interest? And does it have wolves?
