OMG it's torrential out there.

I didn't even get out of bed to wave them past my road.

Yep. Grim out there. Got to feel sorry for the vehicle drivers as most of them are open topped. I can imagine there'll be a few more breakdowns then usual.

Delighted to see my decision to miss this one was reflected in the attitudes of others. A shame to miss the event but it would have been very wet, albeit not cold. And even with warm clothing and full-on waterproofs riding a bike in the rain all day is a miserable experience.
Rainlegs, preferably in yellow, do help, of course, but i opted for a lie-in followed by a nice healthy fry up.
Commercial vehicles run would be a possibility.....

Postscript. I got home for 11am., and as I had been looking forward to a ride today by 12 I was getting cabin fever and at 12.30 set off on the A23 determined to get some miles done to Crawley....so I ploughed on through alternating showers and dryish spells. having coffee now in Crawley cafe stop with blue sky and sunshine. Train home beckons .

I still have flashbacks from the Bordeaux recce and the first day's ride when Martin first broke those out...We got so fed up with his fluorescent ensembles at evening meals that we bought him a proper shirt!
