I don't think it will apply but if you are ex-armed forces there is The Victory Services Club in central London - £40-60 a night.

Bear in mind that Wembley is a good way from central London if there is a late finish.

don't stay near wembley. it's too far out of town to make enjoying the city any good - best 'commute' there for the gig, the tube will run late enough to get you back into town.

it depends what you want really - you can go snazzy, or get a travelodge, premier, comfort type.

last minute have some good deals and the 'secret' hotels can be very good. laterooms also have good deals. there are also the apartment type hotels, where it's more like hiring a flat for a few days.

While I'm down there i would like to do the tourist thing and see a lot of the landmarks etc. Hotel Budget within 200-300. Also restaurants for meals etc. Might even go shopping

and if Breakfast isnt included, dont pay the stupid hotel prices, just pop to the nearest cafe or coffee shop and buy breakfast there.
London hotels are over priced, I would go cheap and cheerful, take the travel lodge option, after all you will be eating out so you wont be spending much time in the hotel other than for sleeping.

Holiday Inn Express are worth a look. Decent rooms usually and all you can eat breakfast. There's one in Golders Green (fairly close to Wembley), Brent Cross (walking distance to Wembley) and Swiss Cottage (half way between Wembley and central London). Normal prices are around £70 a night.

How about a B&B or hotel in Watford or Rickmanswoth etc. Direct tube line to Wembly and only 30mins to central London. A one day travelcard is about £8.50 iirc

No-o-o don't get one out in the sticks. Get one within the 'boris bike' boundaries then you can scoot around the touristy stuff under your own steam. As Lawrence says, it's easy to 'commute' to Wembley Arena. Sorry i can't recommend somewhere but there's plenty of travel lodges. I'll try and think on and ask around.
