Don't know if any of you ladies and gents use London Midland as part of your commute but this month they are doing Half price sale on daily return tickets during August if you buy the tickets online, saved me a cool £39 this month

It only applies to off-peak fares (according to this), so won't be helpful in normal commuting times. Worth it for day trips or a bit of spontaneous touring, though, especially as the network goes from London to Shropshire and Hereford via Brum (monthly returns are also covered). And in my experience LM has one of the more relaxed cycle-conveying policies.
