Please be nice, I'm here for advice.

Hi there. There is a local charity I used to be quite involved with, I have been contacted by a member of admin to ask if I would be interested in taking part in a long distance cycle. All I know at the moment is that it is 550 miles over 6 days, which will be in July of next year.

I am not a cycler, I have cycled before but just a few miles here and there.

My questions are, would it be possible to be ready for an event like this in 9 months? What type of training would be needed for it?

I am always up for a challenge and would love to take part but I am unsure were to begin.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks

What type / make of bike do you have?

9 months is plenty of time to get ready but the type of bike is quite important to how comfortable, easy and challenging it will be.

91 miles a day ...
If you are fit already it will be a bonus You will need to start Asap cycling 10 miles a day for a month then start to increase the mileage month after month
also a good diet will aid you whilst training .
