I knew he was ill, but not that seriously.

A sad day for us 80s metallers. Holy Diver and Heaven and Hell albums amongst my favourites of all time.

iPod Shuffle took me to Neon Knights this morning, so I've listened to the whole album today. Awesome.

I first heard him sing with Elf...carolina county ball etc...that was cool, but when he joned Rainbow that wa sit for me..I was sold...I had the Rainbow live on stage LP and the track Catch the Rainbow blew me away, his vocals on that were superb. Then Rainbow rising and long live rock and roll...wow...but then I saw Dio's first gig in the Uk I believe at the Monsters of Rock festival at castle donnington and OMG did that band ever steel the day...they were just a breath of fresh air...so much power and so much melody...
