Long Shot - Mavic Open Sport rimmed Front Wheel 700c

Just bought a Shorter Road Bike thats come with a brand new Mavic Open Sport rear wheel and want to match it if possible.

Front is in a pretty poor state anyway so I would replace it.

If anyone has a wheel with this rim let me know. Cheers.

Aye but they are £60 for a wheel on a £40 bike. I will if I have to but pennys don't save themselves!

Yep, I did think of using the old hub and building one, but the hub is pretty ropey and my last attempt at wheel building wasn't great.

Worth thinking about if I don't get it sorted by time frame comes back from respray.

As you're going to the trouble and cost of having it resprayed it begs the question, is it worth spoiling the ship for a ha'porth of tar?

Just get the wheel bought you tight wad

I know where you're coming from though, resto's can very easily run away with your wallet and set it on fire, DAHIKT

Resprays cost me nothing except the materials as my step brother will be doing it. (First one, will see how it comes out) Did have two frames powdercoated in the past but really wasn't happy with the finish.

Sandblasting/prep work I can do where I volunteer as they have a large booth for recycling tools and machines for Africa etc.

And I've spent far to much money on my touring bike build so I am skint at the moment.

Your in a similar boat to me when I was doing my restos. My mate has a car repair bodyshop, so I prepped it and he sprayed it. I was very happy with the finish of all mine TBH. I've never had anything powder coated, but I wouldn't bother myself, if I ever do another resto I'll get my mate to do it again, yours will be fine I'm sure.

I can't show you any of mine just now as I'm on an old laptop after fookin' my PC up last weekend
