Just realised I didn't say in my post above, that I have the Rudy Project Rydons with the clear photchromatic lens. I assume it is the same lens as yourself?

I've got the grey polarized photochrome lenses, they show a fairly light tint when indoors but may be too dark to ride in at night. I wanted the polarized lens though!

(*snort*) I wear glasses all the time. Prescription glasses to correct my shortsightedness, ever since childhood. For several years now, bifocals to help me focus close-up. (*snort*)

Agreed, my lidl £ 2.99 ones have lasted 3 years now

I have some similar ones to these, the first pair got scratched but my second are still good. Good for almost any conditions; in bright light they filter UV and in low light they improve contrast, and they offer good protection from anything that wants to make its way into my eyes. I have had contact lenses come out on fast descents in the past, but I have no idea how as they are quite snug... I am usually pondering this at 40mph whilst screaming "I can't see!"

There are some more cycling glasses with interchangeable lenses and a case coming up in the next Lidl offer starting tomorrow for £7.99, here:

I've had glasses with interchangeable lenses and I really don't like them. On days where I would know the conditions would change, I'd have to carry the extra lenses. My back has a fair amount in it already and things get bashed scratched etc.

Sure my glasses weren't cheap, but they are point and shoot, and damn comfortable when on (you don't notice them which is definitely the point!).

As it happens, I've just got myself a pair of prescription sunglasses. Maybe not the last word in fashion, but win hands down on cost. They cost me - £0.00  . How come? Well it's all to do with the optician's 2-for-1 offer: I actually needed three new (non-tint) pairs: bifocals, single-focus distance (for astro etc.), and middle-distance for computer. They said they couldn't do 3-for-1, but they could do 4-for-2, so what would I like for the fourth pair? I said I don't know. They said, what about tints? I said OK, I'll try the tints. So now I have them! Not sure how much I'll use them, but blocking more of the UVA from my eyes can only be a Good Thing...

Should definitely be compulsory. A few times I've had stuff fly up into my face and 100% would've have died if it wasn't for my specs keeping it off and letting me see.

Don't understand why people are against mandatory safety gear. The money from all the glasses fines would come in handy in these pinched times, as well.

Let's face it, promoting extra shoot on the basis that you won't be safe without it is hardly going to put any potential cyclists off, is it?

I was ripped off.

I bought some at the cheapo sports wear shop (sportswear direct?) about 2 years ago and they were £3.99.
I use them if I know where I'm going, but as my contact lenses are distance vision only I can't read a map using them.

How about fully integrated safety clothing then? Helmet with built in goggles connected to a spacesuit style body protector with built in airbags? (For illustration see Apollo moon landing pix).

I hate the look of these cycling glasses. I got some ballistic goggles that I use for airsoft for £4 or summat, look ok because they are all clear plastic. Well, I say that but I still look a knob in them.

Decided to wear scratch resistant coated prescription glasses I got from Glasses Direct for most rides where I don't want to look too 'hardcore'.

Used a pair of Lidl interchangeable lens glasses for a while. It was useful having the various option of lens, but I found the edges tended to mark my face below the eyes; looked like I'd been in a street fight after every ride.
