Hey guys, new to the Forum so hello, and please be nice....

I've got back on my old Foffa so I can get to work safely during the situation we're in, and realised how much enjoy it on a bike....

Anyway, I'm looking for a decent fast commuter (so something that cant take a set of panniers/front rack) up to £1.5k.

As I say I'm quite tall at 6' 4", so would appreciate any recommendations for taller guys on the forum...

Hope you can help

Assuming you want a flat bar bike, I'm 6'5" and have always had good luck with Trek bikes, as have both my brother and father, do it may be worth adding the FX series to your list.

That being said, all of those bikes look good, try and find a shop which stocks them and get s test ride.

Hi Technosmash,

My apologies because I’ve not ridden any of those bikes and so I can’t speak from personal experience. It looks like your research has identified a very good list of flat bar options and if you wanted some others the throw into the mix the following could maybe be worth considering.

Orro Terra flat bar
https://www.orrobikes.com/shop/urban-bikes/terra/45

Or for something a bit different an internal gear hub bike from Temple Cycles:-

But I’ve not checked any geometry charts which you’d need to check to see if there iS the right frame size that you want.

Good luck finding the right bike for you.

Thanks for the feedback and other options guys. Really liking the look of the Oreo, will have to see if there is a stockist London.

I'm a little clueless regarding geometry so I need to get reading about all that!

Has anyone had experience with Rondo bikes or belt drive bikes more specifically? I was also looking at this...

Rondo bikes look really good, Sigma sell them
Orro, a fair few dealers around London (depends where you are, big place), you’d need to call around to see if they have that one (and whether they are open).
If you’re going to be commuting in
London (and locking it up anywhere), make sure it’s properly insured
