+1 Fenwicks works well , clean to use and yes smells nice.
They do a chain drive cleaner kit cleaner , brush, and a nifty chain sponge.

White spirit.

And be sure to re-use it not just single use. It can be used many many many times over.

There's also parafin.

I find washing up liquid works well. Wait till the bottle is near empty and then just fill with water.

Halfords 1L citrus degreaser also works well - i dilute to 25%.

Bikehut citrus degreaser from Halfords. Works very well and smells good! £9.99 for 1 litre. It doesn't appear to contain any nasty chemicals.

Hydrocarbon solvents are the most effective degreasers, and the really volatile ones like Xylene smell much better than some water based citrus muck.

Can't remember what I use but, it came in a 5L tub from Amazon, and you dilute it with water water. E.g. 1 part de-greaser and 4 parts water. It wasn't expensive or an under performing/over hyped product.

I use it across the board for auto detailing, on the motorbike and the push bike. Works a treat.
