This isn't the weather forecast I like to see for my 5am ride to work. Well the winter boots and wet weather gear will at least get some use.

That's similar to the weather I had while riding to work just now: 10°C and rain all the way. Yesterday it reached just under 30°C but then a cool change and moderately strong winds came in, and the rest of the week here is expected to have maxima around 15°C.

Mudguards are on the commuter bike ... I'm ready for it :rain:

The 'bad weather bike' might be seen later on in the week though.
Still haven't decided on what guards to fit to the good bike and the winter hack is on my mates work stand awaiting me delivering wheels and needing some tlc so I better get myself sorted asap.

The 'good' bike is away now until I switch the wheels on it and it'll be used only if it's dry until the spring. Inital long-range forecasts are predicting a wet, cold winter.

The commuter can cope as I'm planning on changing the drivetrain next year; it's done 6000+ miles of all-year commuting for the past 2 years and is only the basic Shimano 2300 which is showing significant wear. It's used on all winter club runs as well.

When it's really bad I've an MTB / a 1986 Raleigh Team as a bad weather commuter, or the final option; an old MTB with spike tyres in the worst ice/snow.

My good bike will now only go out on dry days and weekend runs and the old trek 1.5 is getting my old vision wheels. Had the BB changed and possibly now as chain and cassette but otherwise it will do all the foul winter months
