in theory everything is repairable but depends on cost. it is not a matter of gluing/bonding the BB inter back in, maybe with a pin or two to hold it from spinning? if you are interested i can forward details of someone who repairs CF frames.

Thanks for the replies.
I can try and get a photo but it won't show much - essentially the issue is that you can rock the cranks and there is a large amount of play - the movement comes from the bottom bracket shell as described by eddy - you can see the aluminium sleeve inside the carbon frame has play.

I'm going to try and warranty the frame in the hope I get one of their nice shiny new models, if not then it is a repair job. Cheers for the offer O2GF74, but I've talked to the mechanic in our club and he reckons that a pin or two through the frame should do the job and has offered to fix it at his bike, but it makes for a creaky bike, so I'll take that option should the warranty fail!

It's repairable. Had that with the Viner, the factory sorted it (OK, sorted it at the second time of asking as the first repair failed...!). Do not follow that mechanic's advice though- if you need to get it repaired yourself, go to one of the specialists.

I am currently experiencing this problem with my Cannondale taurine frame. It only came to my attention after the mechanic at the bike shop was going to replace my bottom bracket bearings and couldn't undo the drive side cup as the shell started spinning. also trying to go through warranty, but failing that does anyone know anyone who could fix it? was just going to give it to an acquaintance who make boats out of carbon so has lots of experience working with the stuff.
Thanks

Sorry about the lack of updates - it is an Isaac, and I had a couple of screws put through the bottom bracket shell to hold it in place - looks very neat, but I can't tell how well it has fixed the issue as I've been riding my winter training bike around ever since. RichTally, velocity cycles in portsmouth were the guys who helped me out, could be worth giving them a ring. I reckon they are one of the best shops for this kind of stuff in the area.

Dave, on of the team there, used to work for Isaac & he and Mike the co-owner are both very au fait with carbon. They (and Viner's UK importers) were brilliant when I had my own issues, so I'm not surprised.
