Very enjoyable 32km ride in this morning, no rain, little wind and the sun was out, it as gone now though.
Managed to confuse a few drivers, they were waiting in side roads, but I was quite a distance from the junction so I waved them out but they did not seem to understand, flashing on two wheels is not easy, maybe they did not expect it from a cyclist.
Eventually as I was almost at the junction and at a standstill they suddenly realised joining the main road in front of me. Two young women just scowled at me, obviously they did not have that Friday feeling but the third lady gave me a wave and a smile.

Not bad at all this morning. Short route as my legs are killing me. 12 days off the bike then back to commuting every day - the legs are in shock. Forecast is a bit pants though !

Me too. I wasnt flying in like you but was enjoying a dry run before that point.

On the plus side I used my new Lezynes mini pump in anger for the first time this morning and can confirm that it is vasty better than my previous cheap and cheerful one. So spending a bit more on a quality pump does make sense.

I got a Bezo dual action hand pump thing, gets it up to a half decent pressure (will check actuall pressure when i have the track pump out later!) was going really well, average cadence of 95 rpm, legs where getting nice and loose then it felt a bit strange arounda a corner, pulled over and heard a hiss  ah well, at least it wasnt yesterday when it was belting it down!!!

Nice and dry this morning here too, lovely ride in and a considerate driver letting me out of my side road too. also they've installed a new electronic sign on liverpool road that tells you your speed.
t'other day it read 15mph my response? "Challenge Accepted!"
so today i shot through at 21mph. next week i'm going for 30 lol, its a short run after a roundabout and is uphill to boot!

A change of shifts meant I had my first school-run morning commute in ages (I'm normally a bit earlier or a bit later). Anyone who always has to ride at that time of day deserves some sort of medal. Next time I'll arrive at work an hour early rather than ride through the mayhem.

The highlight was probably the woman who couldn't find a parking space within 10 yards of the school entrance, so she stopped alongside another parked car. As that car was itself double-parked, I'll have to credit her with the invention of "triple-parking".
