a new one for me after just visiting the kitchen-

opening packets of dried black peppercorns and dried szechuan peppercorns- spicy and aromatic.

The one thing I don't get about Jo Malone - great fragrances but why so expensive for what you get - they're technically colognes - which is very diluted perfume strength so why the high price tag. Surely this would make sense with eau de parfum or parfum but cologne?

The moment after breaking the seal on a jar of instant coffee.

I was told that they put that smell in after the coffee and before sealing. It may be an urban myth.

The background smell of a lay-by on a busy road while on a long journey. Spilled diesel, exhaust fumes, fried onions... and then the wonderful whiff of your very own.......bacon roll. After that, you are a dragon-slayer.

Would anybody buy Jo Malone stuff if it was cheap?

Oh sorry. xx( Serves me right for not paying atention.
In which case I'm going to flounce.

Well, I may do, but I'll read the thread first, and then decide. Or maybe not bother.
On the other hand...Actually, I am tired today, being roused by a bag of fresh coffee - it's that smell again!

Neal's Yard Dairy has a lovely aroma - clean and cheesy...

Too much faff, unless somebody makes it for me. I always enjoy the coffee in Belgium, though. Like most things, it is rather superior there

People say that but to put a spoonful of ground coffee into a single cafetiere and push down the plunger can't take much longer than instant, can it? My time is not that precious either!
