People say that but to put a spoonful of ground coffee into a single cafetiere and push down the plunger can't take much longer than instant, can it? My time is not that precious either!

Washing up, mate, washing up! And cafetiere coffee seldom does it for me, anyway. I just think of instant as a different drink, acceptable in its limited way. A large spoonful of muscovado sugar and a couple of Hovis biscuits help it along. I am an Advanced Dunker, you know

Oh, I never drink beverages other than tap water in the workplace. Having tea or coffee would entail being repeatedly stitched up over the purchase of milk.

So much so that I only drink fresh these days.

Me too. It's no more bother than putting the kettle on for instant. And if you use one of these

you don't need to wash it up often.
