was due to go out shopping yesterday, missus took one look at the rain and said to me "we'll stay in and let you go on your bike, you've wanted to get out all weekend"

gee, thanks hon...

anyhoo, went out for a blast in the pouring rain, realised that i really, really need decent waterproofs and some flipping gloves, couldn't feel my hands after a bit.
so i nipped into cyclehouse (needed to anyway) and got a pair also got a frame bag for my ever expanding spares kit and a new rear light.
not the shopping my wife was thinking of...

I went out on Saturday, forecast was light showers. 5 mins from home I'm in torrential rain that turned to hail! Tried to hide under my helmet, but it still stung the arms and legs. Also I think it filled the helmet up with ice because I got an ice-cream headache. It eased off and I dried out so I finished the 30 miles I'd planned instead of bailing for a 20.

Ah, that's why you must wear a helmet.

It was hideous, I got soaked through on the way home from work. I also had a stiff neck so I couldn't turn my head to the left, which made the odd T junction interesting...

It felt great getting in a hot bath at home, though!
