I had a scan on mine a few years back.No big deal and it's over it a couple of minutes, just a bit cold when they put the gel on.I do have varicocele in the blood vessel though and that i hate.It can make checking for lumps a problem as it gets in the way,Would love to have it removed.

Apparently if it's nasty it usually feels sort of 'gritty'.

But like others have said GO TO THE DOCTOR.

If you need to change your GP then change it, if he is the only option, complain.

That's the trouble with this country, we are really good moaning under our breath about things but rarely have the balls (pardon the pun) to do anything about it.

Reading this thread I imagine a large group of CC'ers waiting on news of your nads. What a funny forum we have.

Hope it's something simple, and as I've now read the entire thread I too am one of those who is hanging on to find out the next bit of the story of your crown jewels ...

Cheers,
Shaun

Get to the Dr's and get yourself checked out. If you are seriously unhappy with the service offered by your Dr, you can, off your own bat, change your Dr. Just find a surgery within your administrative district, phone them up and ask to be registered with them. I think you have to stick to your own district though (e.g. mine is Fareham West).

Anyone else had similar, could it be a heat lump?
Dunno what a heat lump is - but get it checked.
Don't worry too much about it though, as a girl I can't comment on lumpy male bits but I know that lumps aren't always as bad as you think. BUT you do need to get it checked out so that you know. Just no worrying about it till you do.

I went to my gp with a swollen right bollock three years ago. 'looks like fluid, but we'd better send you to a specialist just in case' said she. When I got to see the specialist about a week later he diagnosed cancer in about 30 seconds and sent me off for blood tests and a scan straight away, I had surgery within a few days. My point is that I could quite easly have thought 'doctor didn't seem worried, I'll leave it and see if it clears up'. In which case instead of day surgery and one short course of chemo it would have spread and I'd really have had problems. So.... get to the quacks and get refered to the hospital pronto!

I am no racist but he/she (husband and wife docs) are both arrogant and incomprehensible and all they ever seem to do is send you to the A&E dept where the nurses always seem to moan "oh your one of Dr I####'s - don't they do anything?"

But you felt the need to mention this, whereas without it, we'd simply assume there was no racial difference whatsoever?

Sorry, just an interesting point. Could you go to a local NHS drop in place instead?

(from someone who doesn't 'do' doctors, not even sure if I have a GP these days...)

I think it's a reference to the "incomprehensible" bit maybe, Arch?

Lifeson. please go and get it checked out. This is not something you want to wish you'd taken the time to do if it does turn out to be cancer - sooner the better for (hopefully) setting your mind at reast or beginning treatment. The alternatives to a degree of embarassment & discomfort now are very much less pleasant.

Yes, I'm sure you're right - I just thought it was ironic.

Same happened to me recently. I went straight to the doctors who referred me to the local hospital's radiography unit for a testicular ultrasound. It was a quick and simple process and everyone was very pleasant and very understanding.

Get started now or you'll self-diagnose and worry yourself silly. If you don't like your doctor then go to a NHS drop-in centre.

In my case the nice lady in the hospital with warm hands, a nice manner and the ultrasound machine, smeared some gel down there and used her little gun device to show me the pictures of the benign cyst I had which will cause no issues (varicocele).

Please go and sort it out immediately as there's a very slim (fortunately!) chance that waiting even a few weeks could something that will make a huge difference later.

Docs as a precaution...think I am right in saying that cancer presents as a painless lump on the testicle not a swelling of the testicle..but I know **** all really..get to the gp he may refer you for a scan if worried..

Mine swelled to about twice normal size so it would seem you're right about knowing ***** all, at least as far as bollock cancer goes anyway;)

There really was no need nor call to even state anything about racial prejudice.

If you don't like them then go elsewhere. If you're sent to A&E then another doctor will have a look at you, unless they happen to be the mirror of your current GP's and send you back to them.

Regardless, you really ought to get this checked.
