A bit of historical interest while you're there: At one time the only access to and from the Cobb (harbour) was via the Cart Road (the lower sea-front way). The public toilets opposite the Rock Point Hotel are on the site of the old custom house. Rumour has it that a smugglers' tunnel led from the basement of the Rock Point (then the Central Hotel) under the custom house to near the Lym Brook.
