Not sure this should be in the cafe section but here goes.....

I'm thinking of going out on the MTB's this afternoon with my 9yr old and want to ride from Ashton, through Daisy Nook and Clayton Vale down to the Velodrome. Last time I was there having a look in Evans I clocked a cafe next door in part of the Velodrome complex but didn't take a closer look.

Does anybody know anything about the cafe as there is bugger all on the tinterweb? Opening times, prices? As 2 possibly grubby MTB'rs will we be welcome, although it would be a disgrace if a cafe at a cycling venue wasn't accomodating to all cyclists.

All and any info welcome, you have less than 3 hrs to complete this task!

How much does it cost to Oldham?
The prices were about average if I remember right- I wasn't 100 pc happy with leaving my bike unlocked in the foyer though- lot of ppeople milling about. Take a cable lock.

Ride It Like You Stole It!

South Manchester
There is a basic wheel bender in the foyer, but there is a covered rack outside. Mucky MTBers will fit in with the BMX lot.

I think it's open about 10am, certainly was last time I was there for a cycle jumble, but there was a BMX comp on.

I take my children training, Track and Field at the sports city complex at the back of Manchester City FC.

We all go with our bikes / trailers down the canal  We love it. There is a nice cafe' in the Main entrance at the back of the football club if the above fails

In my case the cafe' usually gets out voted for Mc***alds  Though I can't argue after they have been cycling to sports city and back and then running round the track

Bugger I was out of the time limit.

Just a bit!!!

Had a great ride. Icecream at Daisy Nook and food at the Velodrome. There was a BMX comp running so the place was swarming. I just had to have a play on the concrete blocks outside the shop/cafe just to show the BMX boys how it is done on a 'proper' bike ^_^

Unfortunately as we were late getting there (past 4.30ish) food was running a bit low but with some sandwiches and a coffee and coke lad and dad were sorted for the ride back to Ashton along the canal.

Really surprised by the lack of bike stands outside the cafe/shop. Big car park but no facilities for arriving by bike?!?!? Evans had put out a bright yellow freestanding bike rack for customers to chain their bikes to but as it wasn't fastened down I decided to use one of the trees instead.
