I reported this incident to the company almost a month ago and never got a response, despite phoning twice:

Just phoned them up again today, and the person on the other end said there was nothing wrong with the driver's driving, said "you seem to spend your life being cut up by drivers" and then hung up. I have to admit I am bl**dy furious.

Is it worth reporting this to the police now?

Pity their safety concerns don't go beyond whats inside their wagons?

Terrible pass, annoying response, but I think you should put it behind you. And don't put any business their way!

Sounds like a one man band and you spoke to "Mick Griffiths" himself?

I often wonder why people don't just apologise. I'm sure the OP would've let it go had the bloke just said 'sorry mate, I didn't realise I was so close. Will take more care in future...etc'

Have you thought about contacting West Lancashire District Council (and a local councillor and MP or two) about this.

It seems that the council is their largest customer.....

Oh and the Press might well be interested, especially if you were to call MJ again and happen to record the call.....in the public's best interest I would have thought.....

If you wish to take it further you have a couple of options.. Police? They prolly wont bother, you could try but its doubtful.

The other option is that of the Health and Safety Executive. He's operating heavy machinery at work, see if they're interested.

The third option is go to the local press. Say you're not after trouble but safe roads for all, they can blur out the company details etc and go for a human interest and road safety story. Cue miserable cyclist next to bike photograph and a load of miserable comments about cyclists in the press, LOL.... but with a pre-emptive strike on the usual myths in the paper it could work.

Its up to how you personally feel and what benefits you think it might bring.

Maybe we should all call him and complain? Or ask for quotes for business, and then call back a few days later to tell him that we don't want to use him after all because of searching his business and seeing his driver driving like that.
