Fortunately their computers are so much better than regular PCs that most Apple users don't give a damn and are happy to put up with such things...

I've had the misfortune to have to use the things twice. Fortunately not at my expense. I'd rather do without a computer at all.

Also there are legit reasons for unreplaceable batteries - you can fit higher capacity ones if they aren't removeable, and I'm sure most people never replace their phone or laptop batteries. Nokia and Samsung have started doing it too now.

I certainly replace mine if they fail, as does everyone else I've been aware of who's needed to. Same goes for cameras, radios and torches.

I've had this MacBook for over 3 years now, not had one single problem with it. It's still lightening quick, the battery life still runs into the hours and I have everything I cold possibly need installed on it, including Photoshop and Final Cut pro, both of which can be used at the same time, with itunes and the internet running, without the laptop spazzing out!

There's gonna be a geek fight...

in the red corner, weighing in at 91.5% of the market place, the global choice, it's MS Windows.

in the blue corner, at 5.1% is the MAC OS

your referee for this bout will be the choice of ultra geeks the world over, Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory.

And there we have it, Sheldon goes for Windows!

For putting that much time and thought into a response you are automatically uncool, which is a classic trait throughout Windows users...

have you noticed how mac users use mac os and don't know how to fix it and how windows users know how to fix loads of computers because they always go wrong? kinda says it all. plus no 3rd party security to slow it down, why is that? oh yeah, we don't need it.

My brother has a 2003 PowerBook G4 running 512 MB RAM, he can't work out why it doesn't work with all the new Mac Software. I told him years ago to sell it and buy a regular PC Laptop, he keeps saying it's better than a PC and wants to keep it.

It cost 3x as much as a normal laptop in 2003.

Battery still works though.

Right, because a 2003 PC would be capable of running Win7 and today's Windows software ...

I'm no Apple fanboy, there are many things I'd criticise Apple for (don't even get me started on the iPhone, nor the ridiculous way that iTunes manages synchronisation with an iPod), but the MacBook Pro series are superb machines. So much so that I bought one despite the fact that I exclusively run Windows 7 on it, and yes, one of the factors was the fantastic combination of portability and battery-life.

It makes a massive difference to size, and that means you could get much greater capacity in the same space.

love the comedy of posting the Apple video bigging themselves up.

just one example...

Toshiba T130 ---- Macbook
13.3" screen ---- 13.3" screen
Core2Duo ---- Core2Duo
320GB HD ---- 250GB HD
1.76Kg ---- 2.13Kg
