I am assuming this is a popular run ... has anyone done it? Having driven those roads many times, I am also presuming that it's best to go at it anticlockwise. I live in Whaley, so would start by heading to Macc.
Aye. Go at it either way. Whaley to Macc is fun, up, down, up, down, up, down all the way. I'd recommend checking wind direction - mainly to see where the descents turn into a right pig, and makes all the effort to go up rubbish.
I tend to go through the Goyt to Buxton as you miss out the Cat. You can just cross it and go via Axe Edge which gives you a nice long descent into Buxton then return over the aptly named Long Hill. All good fun
