Having done Newcastle to London with action Challenge the other weekend, it really is a eye opener as to what has to go on,

In short, nearly 400 riders, 6 rest stops. 4 baggage vans with your bags at every stop, professional catering at each stop, suppled gels, iostonics, bottles, bars etc. crews battling horrendous storms to get stations set up and taen down and transport to and fro the start line, with a sepper eagon at the back to pick up the stragglers, and coaches to take the exhausted to the finnish, over 50 staff working 48hrs straight.

and the best time of the weekend - Newcastle to London in 20Hrs 28 mins. (if you take out 10 mins per stop for 6 stops thats an hor so really 19 and a half hours!)

WOW!!!

A lot of entrants (80% ish) would not have tried it, farless attempted it without the safety net and support. So on thi occasion, probably 300 riders at £1200 each rasied that otherwise would not have been raised.

Aiming for ticking over atm, as it gets chillier will try and ride when I can and get a general turbo session on, no real Aim though. Will kick it up properly in the new year then.

Main focus arm is not to sit on my bum all winter!

I've signed up. I personally have no problem shoring up for the trip because of the good I know it will do. I've made a habit of reading up on these events, and whilst I certainly do agree with some of the comments made against this, it's too good an opportunity. Full disclosure, I've never done a ride like this before, so my aim is to use the build-up widely, train hard, and not because my usual bloated Christmas self.

I'll be riding for Bloodwise this time around. More info here: https://shop.bloodwise.org.uk/shop/sports

Hi all,

Having organised rides such as the London to Paris for a few years now, I'm always shocked with how much grey area there is on the charity rides. I've written an article on it here if you're interested: http://www.tbshooter.com/fundraising-challenge-events/

I organise and run challenge events with my company More Adventure. We offer complete transparency with our trips, so participants and their supporters are clear about exactly what money goes to charity. Alternatively, if you just wish to just turn up and ride without fundraising at all, all of our trips off this option too. More information can be found here: http://www.moreadventure.co.uk/overseas-trips/london-to-paris-bike-ride/

If you need any help, please get in touch.
