Odd thing happened last week, had bike back for about a fortnight and was out on a ride around local area (won't say where as not important) as weather was quite hot was sweating heavily stopped in local town and decided needed a coffee so stopped at a small café. When I was about to be served a assistant asked me to leave the shop as I was hot and sweaty, refused to serve me although I intended to sit outside she muttered a comment about "stupid cyclists" and wandered off, being a biker for many years quite used to this attitude when your carrying leathers and a helmet, never thought it would happen on a bike though. this just seems weird in this climate of more people cycling to save money on other transport.

That's mean and rude of them. If they didn't want a sweaty person in the shop, they could just cheerfully say: Crumbs you look hot, why don't you sit outside and I'll bring you your drink? Mean and rude.

On a very hot day...
And I'll order lots of baked beans....

Well the reason for this wasn't to name and shame as I refuse to drop to their level but as I said as a biker I got a lot of this type of treatment I wondered if it was typical treatment of cyclists

Cyclists are a serious form of income for lots of cafés, especially at weekends, and those that do accommodate cyclists get a steady flow during the week when things might be quiet.

Jodrell Bank had a new cafe and visitors centre built a few years ago. Despite it being much posher than it was, they welcome cyclists more than ever. There is bike parking and they didn't mind a load of us leaving puddles over the floor on a wet day.

And if you had used the bog as Alembicbassman suggests, you should certainly have left the seat up and put the spare bog rolls down the loo.
