What's even funnier is that chappy, who was in such a hurry, got overtaken by a berk on a Brompton before he even reached the other side of the road...

So - he was in front of the stop line and the red light. Perhaps he had proceeded past the stop line whilst the light was green but got trapped there? Not uncommon with badly designed junctions like that one.

No, I was right behind him for quite a while and the light was red when we turned the corner of that street a couple hundred yards before. More a case of cantbearsedtowaititis
