Australian magpie, innit. Which while black and white isn't, I think, related to the Proper British Magpie, which would never dare do such a thing.

Very intelligent birds. When one magpie dies or moves away there's always a dispute over territory so all the local magpies will assemble to see the outcome because they know it will affect their own territory. It's called a parliament of magpies.

I found myself wishing the magpie would hurry up and finish the cyclist off, just to shut him up!

There are no magpies on my commutes in/out of Melbourne, but I've had memorable moments with them in the past.

Australian magpies are fantastic, and have the most beautiful song in the world. They are also intelligent, friendly and playful.

British magpies are ... black and white and blue.
