When on the treadmill the other day i realised i can hold approx. 300 watts quite comfortably on the treadmill for 45 mins to an hour, this got me thinking about my FTP on the bike. It tends to be only around 230 watts.
I used to be a runner but took up cycling around 4 years ago now due to too many injuries when running.
Logic tells me the wattage i put out on the bike should equal to my running if not better due to having gears to help? Has anyone else come across this or am i getting the theory completely wrong here or does the wattage i can maintain running not compare to a bike?
