I've never clicked your link before on the bottom of your posts. that's some talent you've there my boy. Very impressed.
I might commision you to do something later in the year. I'm looking for something bespoke for a bathroom. I love walnut. Do you work with that???? and are there any limitations what you can do with it?
You should be very proud mate.
Cheers, Walnut is fine to work with, a little costly in big lumps though.
Limitations will depend on what you want. Some processes are not suited to my workshop and other processes are just labour intensive. Really depends on what you would like and how we can make it possible within your budget and time frame.
Generally I would say, find some images of furniture or woods that you like to make a 'like/dislike' design board with. You can then show what shapes you like, design styles, colours of the wood and also what you don't like. From there we can develop a design that is individual and suits your needs.

Gosh, could you really!!!

Any old wood'll do, whichever you think is most suitable not too dark though, ash oak beech colour??
Make a paper or card template of the outline of the bowl that you want it to fit to, or if you still have the old one to use as a pattern. Do you have specific hardware for the hinges to match the bowl/cystern? I can work to that if you have it or I can just make the seat and lid and you can find and fit your own.
A photograph of the plan view of the bowl showing hinge positions and a side view showing the cistern relative to the bowl may help to make it fit if it is non standard.
We are talking basic and machined though otherwise it will cost many hundreds for a hand made seat!
