Aaahhh polenta, it's never very good is it, what can you do with the stuff to raise it beyond bland shíteness?
I'm a Chef & used this Greek recipe from Samos. Works every time & is very moorish. Enjoy!Apart from never being entirely sure if I've spelt it right, a bit like Anglesey or necessary, I also can't make it very well. It always tastes shite and is barring my way into middle class comfort and accompanying smugness.
I can no longer afford this disturbance in smugness and the feeling of superiority it engenders and so must tackle this nemesis before it sends me back down the social ladder to join Marmion and his deep fat fryer rather than upwards to making my own smoker.
I have tahini, garlic, lemon, chickpeas and a processor/blender. So what is the secret. My chickpeas are tinned, my tahini, I've just discovered is 'light', I may have to change that, my lemons are fresh, my salt is sea and my garlic is cloved. How should I pursue this quest?
Juxtapose with the blandest staple on earth, couscous?Aaahhh polenta, it's never very good is it, what can you do with the stuff to raise it beyond bland shíteness?

I mean, what is the farking point?
That's no way to talk about @User14044 ....big slab of stodge
I've tried, honestly I've tried. Little bits of spicy tasty vegetables, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, but every time I try it still tastes like something I just poured boiling water over, with the single purpose of being disappointing.Couscous is great, easy to mix stuff with it, polenta is a big slab of stodge.
An element if truth there Cubist but polenta knocks it into a cocked hat for bland crapness.I've tried, honestly I've tried. I kinda think we had some gnocchi that had polenta in it. That didn't seem too bad....perhaps it was the sauce?
Home cooking when I was a student at Pisa. Our host used to make various dumpling dishes from leftovers. Not bad with a decent ragu over them.
My cuisine is best with a decent rag over it.Home cooking when I was a student at Pisa. Our host used to make various dumpling dishes from leftovers. Not bad with a decent ragu over them.
Yum!
Almost all British middle-class food involves the usurpation of European/Mediterranean peasant cuisine.
