It happens sadly and theres a few threads on here of cyclists been assaulted by passing cars. Friend of mine was threatened by someone in a car once and attempted to be run off the road when on his motorbike, he chased them down and headbutted the driver in response (he didnt take his helmet off
).

My dad was a motorcycle courier years back, one day he was flagged down by a stopped car driver so he got off the bike and went to see what he wanted the driver gestured for him to come around to the back of the car to the boot as he did BOSH!
over the head he was hit with a scissor jack (thankfully he was wearing his helmet) anyway after waking up the car is gone and he can't remember the reg so to this day the only thing he can't think is that the driver saw him wearing the companies bib and jacket and has mistaken him for another rider he's had a problem with . All in all there's some serious nutters out there so take care .

I was once pushed off my bike by a twerp leaning out of a car window. Fortunately, it was my Brompton and I was going very slowly (uphill) at the time, so I landed on my feet. I called 999 and the police took the matter seriously. It's just a shame that by the time I'd got through to the operator, I'd forgotten the registration so the police were unable to pursue the matter.
Unfortunately, I know of a few others who've suffered similar incidents and come off worse, including one experienced cyclist who wasn't badly injured but was so shaken up that he gave up cycling altogether.

yeah..the scum are out there...I had my rear end slapped...and in anothe rincident my pannier rack was grabbed and pulled by chavs ..it's becoming some kind of national sport these days, like hunting . We could solve this by allowing cyclists to carry guns and shoot them on sight

If you are on a 'walkers' only path, and the motorbike didn't have any number plates, I'm guessing it didn't have any lights either. This wasn't a road going motorcyclist, this was more than likely some 15 year old idiot on a motocross bike that can't afford to go to the track and ride. There are lots of people on Enduro bikes that go around the countryside on the proper byways, that have MOT, tax, insurance etc etc and are completely legal to travel down the tracks. Please don't judge all motorcyclists by this guy, he was clearly an inconsiderate toe rag.

My girfriend's son was pushed off his bike by a car passenger. The car then stopped and the passenger got out and tried to grab his BMX. They'd not realised that he's a big build and 6 foot 4. He head-butted the guy so hard he hit the floor. Now that's justice!
