Managing ones meagre home finances...

Any MoneyDance users here?


I use and LOVE FreeAgent for managing my business finances so am looking for something similar to manage my household finances.


Www.moneydance.com looks good, especially as I really want a system that's cloud based and has an iPhone app (I'm a lot more likely to keep things up to date if I can update on the go).


Has anyone here used MoneyDance?

I know what I earn, I know what my fixed expenses are, I have a rough idea of variable bills. I check the end balance on my bank statement each month. There isn't much (or anything) left over to manage!

Well that's what I've done to date! But I've run my own business for gawd knows how many years so should be able to do better at home!

I used a note book and pencil, taking off the out goings from the incomings to make sure I never went overdrawn. Simple but effective. Plus, I never bought anything if I could not afford it.

My wife has been managing our finances for nearly twenty years and it's been a bit unfair of me to let her take that burden wholly.

Me too! Its working well for me. I generally live within my means and have no debts other than my very reasonable mortgage. Occasionally a curved ball comes in and upsets the balance (my fence has just comitted suicide for example). Life is good!
