although at the moment it's showing as -17.8 deg celsius....so it might need calibrating a bit.

Just read this on the MEN site  Just what we need :rain:

A Minging Manc...
I have done an enjoyable (yes, really!) 25 mile ride this afternoon and even rode up Joel Lane in Gee Cross 'just coz I woz passin'. Have to say that the fear of the weather was worse than the weather itself and my new Altura water proof made it reasonably tolarable so although i was still wet all over it wasn't like a drowned rat job!

Wore my full waterproof gear last night, 45 minutes none stop rain and I was surprisingly dry when I got to work.
It's still too warm really but I would have been soaked to the skin without it.

The Goretex stuff really is decent, I tend to ride slower in the wet (yes it is possible ) to minimise the sweatiness, figure an extra few minutes in the rain don't matter too much, feet were bone dry with the boots on with waterproof pants just long enough to make sure the rain went over them instead of inside like last time

Roll on tonight, do your worst weather!!

just got home from placement. 32 miles today in shitty pissing down rain. all snuggled up in my goretex, this morning (a bit toasty even at 05.30 am). couldn't be bothered to get into waterproofs when it started raining again on way home, soaking wet now and cold. won't do that again!!
